Looks like DS is coming down with Coxsackie / Questions for BTDT moms
One of the LOs at day care was sent home with a fever on Tuesday and his ped later diagnosed him with it. Of course DS is the lucky one who seems to get every virus known to man when he's there so I have been on alert. I noticed he was extra cranky this morning and when I went to kiss his forehead he felt warm. Took his temp and it was 102.2* Ugh Now there aren't any sores...yet...but I'm anticipating them.
So my question for you guys is what were your experiences with the illness? I know it's pure misery with all the sores. How long did the breakouts last? Anything you can recommend that made it less awful for them? What other symptoms did your LO experience?
This sucks because we are supposed to go on our first family vacation Monday to the Poconos in honor of DS' 1st birthday which was last Thursday.
Poor little boy :(

Re: Looks like DS is coming down with Coxsackie / Questions for BTDT moms
I had to search for my own post from last year because I couldn't really remember.
Ann started out with one sore on her face near her bottom lip and never had other visible ones except one on her finger after the fever stopped. She also had a regular looking rash on her arms/legs.
She cried (which for her was out of the ordinary) or was completely mopey for most of it.
Hope he feels better soon!

i wish i had written this down so i would remember if g-d forbid DD gets it again. someone told me to give her benadryl and tylenol and to dab a q-tip in mylanta and put it directly on the sores in her mouth. honestly though, i'm not sure there's much you can do to ease the pain. it's pretty awful. i hope your LO just has a fever and nothing else....

All I remember was the doc said to limit binkies b/c if they weren't sterile, he could re-contaminiate himself.... DS was 14 months so we cut them out and he survived.
Sorry I couldn't be more help!
