Looks like I'm joining you ladies
Hi, my name is Lauren. After my ob/gyn appt today my Dr. recommended that I see an RE. I have an appointment 8/12 and I am really nervous. What should I expect at the first appointment?

Hi Lauren!
I am sorry that you are having to participate in the infertility board, but welcome.
I haven't been to an RE yet, so I don't know what you should expect. I will say that the first thing I had to go through was an HSG (an x-ray of your uterus and ovaries to check the structures and if your tubes are open). If your OB/GYN hasn't ordered one for you, that might be where they start. I just went through mine a little over a week ago, so let me know if you have any questions.

awwww
i brought all my records with me from my OB and a previous infertility Dr. I saw.
they ask you tons of questions regarding your medical history. The appointment is extremely thorough!
Dh came with me too
Good luck and I'm sure all the wonderful ladies in here will be a huge help too.

Welcome!
I was super nervous B4 my 1st RE appt----I think not knowing what to expect is the worst feeling.
After our 1st appt, we felt hopeful and actually kind of excited bc we knew that we had a lot of tests that would be done to help figure out what the heck is going on.
At our 1st appt, the dr will ask you both a ton of questions. Bring any records that you have. The dr will talk about your options and will probably tell u what tests to have done. They may take some blood and will probably do an exam.
Hang in there.....once you get to the appt you'll feel a lot better!

I agree, just bring anything you can. It seems scary at first but it's really not bad at all. Good luck to you

Thanks for the encouragement, you all made me feel better! I've requested my records from my OB. They already did the CD3 and CD21 testing so hopefully that will give us a good start on figuring out what is going on.
