Take a deep breath and try to relax. Not much you can do right now. Once DH talks to the Ped you will have more info and can take the needed actions. You have had a rough few days to say the least and PP hormones do not help. Try to do something to make you feel relaxed and centered. If he does have coxsackie you will need the rest to take care of him.

thanks everyone. Dh and ds are back from the Ped and it is in fact cocksackie. She also said DH may be next he does not get it.
We have to keep the kids separate until Jack is 3 days fever free. Then she said he's no longer contagious. He already started getting the rash on his hands. He's a real trooper though. Seems to be in good spirits. Dh and I have tag teamed....I'm with the baby and he's taking care of Jack. The next few days should prove interesting. that no one else gets it
Thanks for all the hugs and prayers and especially to those who shared how one kid got sick and not the other....it really gives me hope
and Lori....thanks for the reminder to just breathe.....I think I had forgotten to do that all morning

Re: Looooong day for a 7 day old**UPDATE...I'M FREAKING OUT NOW*** PLEASE HELP****update #2 on p2
When my daughter was 4 weeks old, her sister (who was then 14 months) got sick with a 105 fever. The baby never got sick. In between taking care of them I would wash my hands and change my shirt. (I had one shirt designated for each.) I keep the baby out of the room my older daughter was in until DD1 was in bed. Then I'd wipe down the couch and other furntiure (leather, so it was easy to wipe) and bring the baby in. It was a pain, but she never got sick at all. Good luck! Hope your DC feels better and DH doesn't get it!

Re: Looooong day for a 7 day old**UPDATE...I'M FREAKING OUT NOW*** PLEASE HELP
i can relate somewhat, when DS was 5 days old he was readmitted because he was jaundice. it was heartbreaking that we had to leave him under the lights for 2 days! and they tried for about 2 hours to get an IV started but his veins kept blowing and DS was SCREAMING..i know it must have been really hard for you. he won't need another procedure, like the nurses told me..it was more traumatic for mommy than for baby... we'll remember, they won't.

It's really hard to separate them but if he's got a high fever, he won't be interested in the baby at all but being babied.
I'm so sorry. It's a tough place to be with one sick & one vulnerable. Maddie got cox sackie at 2 weeks old from Joe.
We have Jack gated into his bedroom in TV heaven The baby and I are in my bedroom. I can't even imagine how hard that must have been for Maddie to have it a 2 weeks....it's my biggest fear right now

THIS is exactly how I feel....like I'm being hazed into parenthood of 2!!!
Thanks so much for all the well wishes and sharing your stories. It's comforting to know I am not alone here
