I know exactley how you feel. DH and I are actually waiting until Feb/March to actively TTC because I want to lose a few more lbs. I started going to a nutritionist in August and have lost some weight and I feel so much better.

Re: lose 10lbs and ttc?
I swear by Weight Watchers. It's such a supportive plan. I lost 5.6 pounds my first week (I started at 164lbs at 5'8''). By week 5 I was down 12 pounds. I hit my goal of 25 pounds after 3 months.
I'm not on the program now, but will join up again with my SIL after we both give birth. By the way- she had the same results as me.

Re: lose 10lbs and ttc?
I'm not a doctor but, I'm sure its ok to eat less and more healthy and exercise while ttc. That said, I would make sure to take prenatals everyday and I would keep the eating less and exercing more to during the af time and time before o and eat slightly more during 2ww and exercise less.
I think I am going to need to lose 10lbs myself if ttc continues becaue I am paranoid and stop exercising during the 2ww for fear i will impede the process. and, i eat much more out of fear that my "baby" isn't getting enough nutrients...ALL MENTAL I know

Re: lose 10lbs and ttc?
I actually talked to my doctor about trying to lose weight while TTC. She said it was fine as long as I'm not starving myself and as long as I keep up with my prenatals. Losing weight is a great thing to do before you get pregnant. And you never know how long it's going to take to get pregnant so I wouldn't put off either and I would suggest following a plan that has a balanced weight loss program-Weight Watchers, Body for Life, Zone, etc. I would stay away from Atkins and South Beach because they focus on cutting out carbs at first. And when you're TTC you need all the energy you can get!!
Good luck!

I am on South Beach and I have read that if you are pregnant or TTC, you can go straight to Phase 2. Phase 2 introduces carbs back into the diet. I am TTC but I started on Phase 1. I ate A LOT and I wasn't tired. I have been on South Beach for 15 days now and just started phase 2 yesterday. So far, I have lost a total of 9 lbs. It totally works! There are great websites for SBD'ers. I was on WW previously and in comparison, I like SB much better.
Good Luck!

That's good to know because if I'm not pregnant this time I am going to start up South Beach. I'm going to look into the book and start figuring out what I need to do. I didn't know that you can start in Phase II so thanks for the info!
