Lots of pain at site of Rhogam shot?
I received the Rhogam shot on Wednesday, and ever since then I have a very sharp pain at the injection site. No swelling, redness, or fever, but my whole hip/butt/leg area is painful, to the point I get woken up from sleeping. Most websites list pain at injection site as a side effect of the shot, but I was wondering if anyone else had this kind of pain? My doctor said I could come in and she'd check it out but I have such a busy day ahead I don't want to go in if it's nothing.

I have no experience with that shot. However, if you're having a lot of discomfort - more that what you would think is normal, I'd get it checked out. I know it's hard with a busy day but better to just be safe. Hope it nothing and you feel better soon!

Re: Lots of pain at site of Rhogam shot?
I had the shot and it was a bit of a discomfort but it was not painful. If you don't mind me asking where did you get it (body part). I had mine on the tush and within a couple of hours I was totally fine. If the pain still continues I would go and get it checked out.

Same for me. I asked my doctor if i should have any side effects and she said I shouldn't have any and if i did, to call. I also had it in the tush and was fine, so I would call.

Re: Lots of pain at site of Rhogam shot?
When I was pregnant with DS, I got the shot and had no pain.
This pregnancy - I had some bleeding and they gave me a mini dose around 13-14 weeks and I was sore for days! It was horrible! I thought something was really wrong (since I had bleeding) but, it was just a side effect from the shot.
It went away after a few days.

It's an intramuscular injection, so the pain should be like that of a flu shot (I got mine in the arm).
They may have hit a nerve in your butt from whatt it sounds like (radiating pain???). You could check it out, but most likely you can't do much about it & it resolves in a few days.
