Lovenox
Hi Ladies,
I apologize for my random post- I mostly lurk and don't post as much these days but here goes. With my first IVF cycle I lost my pregnancy at 7 weeks due to a possible clotting issue (blood test showed borderline for antiphospholipid). Fast forward to my daughter 3 cycles later (FET) and I was placed on lovenox until 12 weeks- delivered a healthy baby girl with a few complications due to anterior placenta.
This time around I had a fresh cycle done- and currently 14 weeks pregnant. My current OBGYN send me to a hematologist who tested me again for antiphospholipid and a bunch of other things and all came back negative. She told me to get off all blood thinners including baby aspirin and the lovenox. I feel very uneasy doing that. Would you fight to stay on lovenox or listen to the hematologist? I am sooooo nervous coming off of it!! Just need opinions

Re: Lovenox
Can you ask your OB for a second opinion?

Lovenox
Definitely ask your OB for a second opinion. I had a DVT years ago and when I became pregnant the following year it want on any blood thinners and had a demise at 28 weeks the cause of the demise is clot.timg factors on the maternal side of the placenta as well as cord being I'm a true knot. Any time I'm pregnant aspirin and Lovenox is a must. I think my OB was leaning towards me stopping but I told her I'm not stopping. Even if my levels are within range I don't want to risk it.

I did deliver dd after I stopped taking lovenox at 12 weeks and tested negative for whatever she send me for. I'm just not comfortable with that. I see the Obgyn in 15 days. I will continue taking the lovenox and see until then . I think I will definitely ask for a second opinion.

Re: Lovenox
I was also diagnosed with APS and am on Lovenox and Baby Aspirin. My OB has me seeing a perinatologist (high-risk OB) in addition to his practice to monitor it. He mentioned to me that a hematologist might think the Lovenox is extreme and take me off of it, so he doesn't want me to go to one until after I deliver. He's pretty insistent that I stay on it. I haven't seen the high-risk doc yet so I don't know what she'll say.
It's a tough call. On the one hand, I feel like the hematologist is the APS expert. On the other hand, Lovenox is annoying but the side effects are manageable and mild enough that I'm ok with taking it just in case, even if it ends up it's not necessary.

Lovenox
I had 3 DVTs when I was pg with my ds. I have no clotting disorders based on the extensive testing but my hemo still wants me on Lovenox the minute I get pg.
Can you see another hemo for a 2nd opinion

Re: Lovenox
Thanks everyone! I have an appointment on March 10th so I will talk to the OBGYN- I dont understand why the hesitate to keep you on lovenox?
My only thing is that I did deliver my daughter and made it to full term after just being on lovenox until 12 weeks, and I am negative for all tests that she took- which does lead me to believe that there probably was no reason to be on them in the first place, BUT something inside me tells me to stay on... UGHHHH Im so torn! I think I will go for a second opinion regardless.
Thank you all!
