wow, I give you Lovenox ladies some MAJOR credit!
They gave me a shot of Lovenox (prevents clotting) instead of Heparin in the back of my arm before my surgery yesterday. I had this horrendous purple bruise within minutes!
I'm sure it's a small price to pay for those of you with clotting issues that used it to conceive or carry a pregnancy successfully, but MAN! ouch!

Thanks-but you get used to it.
I am on twice a day shots. My belly is black and blue, and the shot stings but it's over in a couple seconds so it's not too bad.
Like you said-small price to pay for the end reward!

agreed, its not too bad. the burning is the worst part  i think that injecting in the belly is easier than the arm!
funny lovenox story  i was in seattle on business last week and i had fallen asleep without taking the shot, i woke up and raced to the bathroom half asleep, open up the packet and tap the bubble to the top and then without pushing the bubble out, immediately jab it into my stomach and inject it wow pain and blood and bruise    of course, just as im done injecting it, i remember the bubble ha.
lesson learned, DO NOT inject without getting rid of that bubble!! DUH!

Thanks :o) I never did the shots in my arm. The stomach wasn't so bad, but you can still see the bruises and they took me off it 4 wks ago. I had gotten pretty good at it too. Lol!

ughh... these shots are the worst!!
the burning hurts, and my belly is so black and blue..
of course its all worth it though!
and for some reason these needles dont like to go in right away.. i have to force it in
