Lovenox/Heparin mommies
Not sure what's wrong with me... I'm so wimpy lately. The Heparin is hurting SO bad... tonight I actually took the needle out and just cried. DH had to come and redo the shot with a new needle. I remember them not being a good time with DD - but this time I'm in tears from them. Gosh, I hope I toughen up in the next 10 days - however will I handle this c-section and all the needles in the hospital? I'm still using ice packs like I do with the Lovenox, but the needle is harder to get in (25 guage) and the after-burn is just horrible. I keep forgetting my morning shot too which I know is not good, but I need to have DD occupied so as to not be needing me while I inject - which isn't always possible. I still take my baby aspirin ever day though. Anyway, just a vent of how much I can't stand this shot anymore and am so done!

have you tried icing yourself down prior so that your skin is so numb it hurts? A good 5 minutes? Sometimes that helps me- although I haven't gotten to heparin yet- just lovenox.

Re: Lovenox/Heparin mommies
hmm you got me I always found the Hep to be much easier then the Lovenox. Maybe you are trying to inject in a bad area. Have you had dh try the back of the love handles or the top of your bum? When I was on Hep I had no burn or anything. I just injected no icing involved. I would def try a new area and make sure you are really iced and pinching the skin hard. Sorry the shots are so painful Remember it will all be worth it and will be over soon
