Lovenox mom's... pediatrician question
I know that I read a lot of posts about interviewing your pediatrician prior to having a baby.
But if you were on Lovenox, which generally means you probably have some genetic blood clotting mutations... did you ask any questions of your pediatrician-to-be that were specific to this situation?
I read somewhere that baby's get Vitamin K shots at birth. That would concern me knowing that Vit K stimulates clotting and at that point we may not know if the baby is a carrier of any strands of any of the deficiencies. Also, did any of you have your baby's tested during the routine blood work done at the hospital? Did your pediatrician take your blood clotting genetics seriously for your baby's sake? I know I want the baby tested ASAP so that we can understand whatever risks may be and work with it and help our child grow to understand that beyond lifestyle choices, it's at a high risk for clots and the fatal issues that could arise from it and that it's lifestyle must be "clean".

I'm lovenox as well. Thank you for posting this, I did not think about it. I thought the clotting is only an issue while pregnant and older (50).
