low grade fever question..help...
So my 5 month old for the past two days apeared to have a cold. Congested, coughing sneezing etc...but in good spirits. Today she was really cranky and irritable. She started running a low grade fever (between 100.1-100.5). I gave her some tylenol but it remained at 100.1. Do I call the dr. at this point? I'd have to contact their emergency beeper #, but didn't know if it was really an "emergency". What should be my next step?
TIA

Some doctors don't consider a fever anything under 101.1 With that being said, you know your child best. If you think that there is something "up" and your mommy instinct is telling you to call, then call. It will ease your mind even if they only tell you she is teething.

I agree with PP- you know your child best. I think most drs. use 100.4 as the line for a fever in a baby under 6 months. Being that you said she is in good spirits, doesn't seem bothered by it, and the fact that you would have to use the emergency beeper, I would probably wait it out. But that's me, you have to do what you are comfortable with.
