Question about a prolonged low fever (clarifying)
Yes, we are home. I'm really not in the mood to talk just yet. I'd just like to ask a question. (As DUCKS2001 asked earlier, but I want to clarify)
DS started having a hacky cough on Thursday. I thought it might be allergies, but then his fever climbed to over 101 on Friday. (I know it's not too bad) Since I was only in town for a few hours to tie up loose ends, I wanted to make sure I brought DS to the doctor. Doctor said it wasn't bronchitis, yet. He said to give him Tylenol if his fever was over 101 again.
So, since Friday his 'fever' has just hovered from 99.5-101.7. I know this isn't bad, but it's been 4 days now. He still has the mucus cough and has even thrown up what appears to be phlegm. He also gets very lethargic and screams as his fever increases.
I'm not in the right frame of mind. I plan on calling the doctor tomorrow, but want to know if a wavering low fever for days can be teething related. (But, the dr on Friday said his teeth weren't close to coming in.)

Re: Question about a prolonged low fever (clarifying)
Poor guy and mommy
Sounds to me like a bit of a cold and an ear infection brewing.
Teething fever can linger though, but if the doc said his teeth weren't close to coming, i'm going with cold and an ear infection starting.
Sorry the little guy is sick
ETA: Listen to your mommy gut, if something is ringing inside, def call the doc. Mommy gut is always 99.99% right

sounds viral, my kids run 104-105 fevers from 4-6 days when they have viral infections. Make sure he is breathing ok, cool mist humidification, hang in there, I'm sure he is fine

I'd call the dr. As the pp said, trust your mommy gut.

MY doc does not believe that fevers are teething related

Re: Question about a prolonged low fever (clarifying)
It's true for my doctor too. My doctor said anything over 100.5 isn't usually attributed to teething.
