Lower Back Pain & Dull Abdominal Cramping
I'm very nervous. I'm currently 11wks 2days and I'm starting to have lower back pain and dull abdominal pains. The abdominal pains started out on the sides, but seems like they've spread. I laid down for a while and they seem a bit better, but I still have the back pain. It's nothing terrible, but I'm just overly anxious with this pregnancy beinf that I've already had 2 m/c. I have no spotting at all, but I'm still very nervous. We heard a heartbeat a week ago at the doctor. Should I be concerned? Is this normal at this stage?

Re: Lower Back Pain & Dull Abdominal Cramping
Drink a few glasses of water and rest. If you are very concerned call your practitioner.
Cramping is normal as long as it isn't followed by bleeding.
As for teh back pain....it only gets worse Your uterus is held in place by ligaments that attach to the lower back. As your uterus gros and rises out of your pelvis, around 11-12 weeks, more and more pressure is put on these ligaments.
TOtally normal!!

Thanks for the reassurance, Blissful. If it doesn't get better tomorrow, I'll call.

Re: Lower Back Pain & Dull Abdominal Cramping
Def keep drinking lots of water and get rest. Cramping is very normal and at this point is also probably your uterus stretching and pulling to make room for what's to come. I had cramps for the whole first trimester and half of the second and pain in my lower back as well.
If it's still nagging you tomorrow or you have any blood or the pain becomes worse, definitely give the doctor a call. That's what they are there for!
