Lupus
Anyone have lupus? Can you tell me what your signs/symptoms are? Also, did it show up in your blood work right away? Thanks!
Please fm if you don't feel comfortable posting. Tia.

Re: Lupus
I don't but I have known a few people who have had it...........one in particular went on for a very long time with several inpatient stays before they finally figured out what was wrong.
Here is a list of common symptoms:

I would also mention to the doctor wanting testing for this.
In the case of the person who went on for awhile, I think they just dismissed it as nothing serious because of the brief "flares" and then the symptoms going away.

Lupus
I have it. My very very first symptom was terrible insomnia. Then, I started getting a few unexplained rashes and itchiness. A few months after came joint pain and stiffness, mostly I would wake up at night completely stiff and unable to move, especially in my arms and shoulders. They first wanted to diagnose me as fibromyalgia, but after telling the doctor my sister has lupus, they decided to run an ANA and it was high, they ran it again and it was even higher. So I was sent to a rheumatologist, so them diagnosed me. I take plaquenil now and the pain is better than it was, but I still struggle on a daily basis. I have no organ involvement, thanks goodness. If you have questions, please ask away!

Re: Lupus
One of my closest friends has Lupus. Her first symptom was joint pain in her wrist... she thought it was carpel tunnel. I believe they ran some tests and it was confirmed fairly quickly. She now has severe joint pain all over.

Re: Lupus
Thanks so much everyone. My blood test came back negative. I think a lot of the symptoms were caused by severe anemia and a medication I was taking. I stopped taking the medication and started taking iron and I feel a lot better. My doctor thought of lupus because I was losing so much hair, it's slowed down now thankfully. Thanks again.
