Macy's furniture
Has anyone purchased Macy's furniture and if so how was your experience. Have you had to use the protection plan and how was your experience with that?
I found a dining room set that I really like (more than anywhere else that I've looked) but just read a lot of horrible reviews about the protection plan, which I will definitely need with the kids.
Thanks

I have a couch from them. I like it. My inlaws liked it so much they got the same one in a different color.

Re: Macy's furniture
I've had good luck with them in the last few years. I've bought a sectional that I love as well as living room couches and even an outdoor set this year.
Delivery has been seamless and its been an all around good experience.
Macys was never really on my radar until I was complaining about furniture pricing and quality to a friend of mine who just used a decorator for some rooms in her home. She told me that the decorator recommended Macys as a nice bridge between the Ethan Allens of the business and the Raymour and Flannigans.

We got our leather couch from them 9 years ago. It's the most comfortable couch in the world!!!! We got the protection plan but never used it and got the money back in the form of a gift card. We then bought an area rug with the money.

I bought a bunch of stuff from them. Honestly the things i picked wound up not being the best qualify (i think they are martha stewart branded). The dining room table scratched in 10 seconds, and the chair legs are constantly loose. The couches pilled in a month. The protection plan is a pain. They make you log in, take pictures and document everything so they can review it and tell you why it isnt covered -- then you have to fight with them.

I think the protection plans are a bunch of BS and just a way to swindle more money out of you. With that said, we just had an office set delivered and the quality is great. One of the draws came with a damaged handle and they replaced it within 3 days. I just ordered my bedroom set from them...

Re: Macy's furniture
I think any protection plan is BS. I don't know why I still buy them. I have a couch from RF. First it pilled in weeks. Then the seam ripped open. They replaced all the cushions so they would match. I was happy. They guy was horrified at how the couch looked after a few months. The pilling was awful. He told me if it happens again to call again and they will let me pick out a new couch. Of course it happened again. I called a month later... Pilling isn't covered.
I could see if it was years later.. but weeks? There is something wrong with this fabric.
I am done buying plans.
