Macy's Thanksgiving balloon inflation

Has anyone ever gone into the city to see this? DH and I want to bring DD (10yo) on Wednesday but someone told me that they don't start actually inflating the balloons till 10 / 11 at night ! ! Everything I have read on line says 3pm - 9pm (some say 8pm)

We can't be in the city that late on wednesday night b/c we have to drive to Conn. early on Thursday morning.

I really want to go but if it's just going to be a bunch of uninflated balloons on the ground it might not be worth it!!

It's late. I think we went around 9pm-10pm. I'll find the site for you.

its very late, at least for small children, they set everything up from 3-9 but don't actually begin to blow the balloons up till 10pm, and it doesn't even look like anything till at least 11pm

maybe they start earlier, it would make sense since its tough for kids to see it (since in the past it was really late) but then it still causes a problem with people working and not being able to get there in time.

That's what I mean ! everything says it ends at either 8 or 9 so IDK if it's just the uninflated balloons.....or if there will be something worthwhile to look at !

I dont' want to take the LIRR in to the city, the subway up there, and then find out that I have just wasted my time Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
