Re: Making anything special for Valentine's Day?
Not sure yet. Either:
- filet mignon with sauteed onions, spinach and roasted potatoes
OR
- Shrimp/Chicken scampi, angel hair and a mixed salad with blush wine vinaigrette
OR
- Braised pot roast with red wine and veggies, over buttered egg noodles and biscuits
Fruit dipped in chocolate for dessert

Making anything special for Valentine's Day?
We're doing fondue with veggies, breads, and meats to dip. For dessert we're having chocolate dipped fruit that DD is helping me cut out and dip.

I used to (before having a child) make a white chocolate cheesecake with rasperry sauce. It was time consuming but so delicious. Now i keep it simple.

Making anything special for Valentine's Day?
If I cook, I was thinking Chicken Cordon Bleu since that's DH's favorite. But, I'm not sure I feel like cooking since that's not really a night off for me at all and it can be tough to do anything elaborate with a 9 month old. I may change things up and suggest take out, which we never do.
For dessert, I think I can manage a brownie sundae with homemade ice cream.

Re: Making anything special for Valentine's Day?
DH & I are actually having a stay-cation with our DDs at the inlaws...so I'd rather cook a nice dinner in & just enjoy wine by our fireplace.
I'm thinking steak & lobster tails Phylo cups stuffed with spinach & cheese
Just not sure what else.
Might make a nice fruit & cheese platter for after dinner with wine. Maybe some truffles too.
I feel like I make the same old things & while they turn out good, I'm looking for some inspiration.

Re: Making anything special for Valentine's Day?
I really don't want to cook since I do it every day, and to make something fancy when I come home from work is not what I want to do either.
I'm thinking a nice big antipasta platter - smoked meats, cheeses, olives, marinated mushrooms, roasted peppers, a loaf of crusty bread, bruschetta, caponata. For dessert, warm chocolate lava cakes with raspberry sauce and plenty of whipped cream.
