Mary! - PA Genealogy Question
Do you have any good newspaper/archive websites I can search thru for PA?
To the best of my family's knowledge, my grandmother was born in Clearfield, PA in 1911. Her father died when she was young in a train accident. I'm trying to search thru old newspapers to find out some more info. I thought maybe you would have some extra PA knowledge :)
TIA!

Re: Mary! - PA Genealogy Question
have you tried ancestry.com?
you can use their free trial and search archives; i found my grandparents entry papers into ellis island, census papers for my maternal grandma who hails from PA.
you can build a family tree on there and save the docs for each person on the tree.
cool stuff.

Have you tried newspaperarchive.com? Technically you need a subscription, but there are some libraries where you can go there and use it for free, or log in for free at home with your library card number.

Re: Mary! - PA Genealogy Question
If you live in Suffolk (if not I'm sure Nassau has something similar" there is a link on the homepage that says something about historical papers. You type in you library card number and you have access to a bunch of really old Suffolk papers and the NY Times which is a great resource even for PA in listen obits and stuff. Another.. findagrave.com... weird I know but it works. Also, try familysearch.org go to the part where they list the sources they have. They do so by state. If you have something particular you are looking for I can try to find it for you. I do family histories for fun I have done all my friends and I find the craziest stuff!!! (I know I'm a nerd lol)
