Massage question
Does anyone know if there is anywhere I can go just to get my shoulders and neck massaged. I have gotten full body massages before, and while I like them, I really wish they would just focus on my shoulders and neck. Thanks!

Re: Massage question
Massage Envy in Commack. My dad goes there and LOVES it. I go to the one near my house in Jersey and it's a GODSEND!
They do everything from 10 minute chair massages to an hour and a half reflexology.

Re: Massage question
We can have this done being pregnant right? Silly question, I know! I have had full body ones while pregnant, so I assume this is okay. Thanks for the rec!

Re: Massage question
i believe as long as you are NOT in the first trimester.
I would call them and ask their opinion honestly. I called my Warren location and was told very strictly that they wouldn't touch me until I was in my second trimester and if they had any doubts, i'd be asked for a doctors' note. (i actually really appreciated that, that they weren't willing to play games).

Re: Massage question
I went for a pregnancy massage last weekend. The therapist said to be careful with therapists that are NOT trained in pre-natal massage. She said that certain pressure points can enduce labor. She mentioned to be caerful while getting pedicures since the feet have so many sensors in them. I think you should be fine with neck and shoulders, but I would check just to be sure.

definitely agree....
each massage envy location has people that specialize in the different areas of massage. some are licensed in 'deep tissue', while others focus on 'pre natal'. In my location, there are two women certified in pre-natal.
ETA: i know i sound like a commercial for them - but it was part of my 'gift to myself' this year - to take better care of ME....and it made such a difference health wise for me - getting a massage once a month...
