Maternity clothing question?

Hi ladies, I am 5weeks1day between the weight I've gained before TTC and the bloating that I get on some days, my pants are no where near buttoning. I bought a belly band for the days that buttoning is just not an option. My question is, when is the earliest everyone was in maternity pants? I don't want to go buy new non=maternity clothes when I know I'll out grow them. I ordered a pair of jeans from motherhood this week with the coupon code, however I feel so silly wearing them already. Thoughts? Advice?

I'm 11 weeks today and I'm wearing that bella band thing for a little over a week now. My jeans can button, but they are SOOOO uncomfortable. I'm sitting here trying to decide what to do. I might go out and buy some leggings, and tunics/ oversized shirts that I can wear for the next couple of months because I also feel silly wearing maternity clothes when all I really have is a little pouch.Chat Icon .
If anything, I may go to Gap and buy just one pair of jeans for now.

This in-between is tough!

I fought the urge until about 10w eventhough I was super bloated from 5w on. Once I made the switch, it was amazing!! Listen to your body. If your pants aren't fitting with the belly band, then just switch! You will never look back! lol

Have you tried the rubberband trick?? I did that for a while... Just wrap a rubberband through the button loophole and then around the button. It will give you some extra room to breathe. Chat Icon

Believe me.. I feel your pain!! Look in my album! I was 'showing' at 10w although it was just bloat. Rubberbands stretch as far as they need to... use a thick one! LOL

Re: Maternity clothing question?

I used the rubberband trick for weeks Chat Icon then about 12 weeks I think I wore my first pair of maternity pants. It was the summer and soo hot and let me tell you when I put them on I was in heaven Chat Icon So to answer your question dont feel silly wearing them early, just be comfortable!

Re: Maternity clothing question?

I have started using the band in the last week or so for pants that feel a little too tight.

I'm thinking in another week, maybe two I might have to start graduating to maternity --- but so far so good.

I'm 13 wks today.

Re: Maternity clothing question?

my thoughts are it's most important to be comfortable and who cares what that is! for me, pants stopped fitting almost immediately but in the summer i almost NEVER wear pants anyway so just kept throwing on the roomier skirts and dresses. . so many of that pants can expand greatly so you won't waste them if you get them now. . for me the only issue with going too early for maternity clothes is a lot of stuff just didn't look right wo more belly but if you find stuff you like - BUY IT!!! you deserve to feel comfy!
