maternity leave and job that doesn't fall within FMLA law
My firm has under 30 employees. What can I expect NOT to have because they don't fall within FMLA law? I'm going to tell them next week but curious what I can expect.

FMLA only requires that your job is protected for 12 weeks (nothing about pay). In order to find out what your job will give you, check out the employee manual first (if you have one). GL!

i have the same issue. i work for a startup and we have 22 employees and no policy. im meeting with the bosses in a week or two to discuss. i dont know what to expect but they are family men so i hope they make the right decision. i am going to get some general info from HR first before the meeting so that im prepared. good luck!

Re: maternity leave and job that doesn't fall within FMLA law
My job doesn't have to comply with FMLA guidelines. I get 6 weeks unpaid maternity leave, 8 if I have a c-section.
That's it. And I have just accepted a position as a supervisor so that's next to no flexibility once the LO is born.

I'll be employed less than one year by the time I give birth so I'm also not covered under FMLA, and I work for a hospital! Oh the irony!
I will be taking 12 weeks off - all unpaid.

Re: maternity leave and job that doesn't fall within FMLA law
I just hope I can get a good amt of weeks off. I'll be devastated if I have to go back before 12 weeks. Although for some reason I don't think he will care because he doesn't have to pay me when I am out.
This is definitely stressing me out.
