Re: maternity photos- are you doing them?
I wasn't planning on it, buy my good friends DH is a photographer, and asked if I would let him take them for free so I agreed. He noticed the trend and wants some practice.

Re: maternity photos- are you doing them?
I do not plan on doing them professionally. I do take a pic of my belly each week for my pregnancy journal "The Belly Book" (very cute, you should look into that). And for Mother's Day, I wanted to do something cute and special for my mom so when I had my friends over the other night, we had a little photo shoot of our own. We had a hysterical time doing it and got great shots (I will post in my album after Mother's Day) to make my mom a cute little flip book of pics. Plus, I'll have them for myself forever.
Would I do a professional maternity shoot... nah. But I may have them back next month to get some of my belly even bigger towards the end!!! Seriously, it was so much fun, they took turns being photographer and stylist and holding a backdrop for some (my black and white damask bedspread!) and we did them in the nursery, which is empty so we had nice blank walls for background. And we used DH's hallogen construction light for lighting effect! I never would have gotten pics as nice by myself with a tripod and timer.
Here's one teaser pic that I've posted already....
Maybe I'll hang a 5x7 or 8x10 in the nursery if I find a spot.

Re: maternity photos- are you doing them?
I didn't do them with either pregnancy and I completely regret it.
I was too wrapped up in how I looked, felt, and didn't feel they were necessary. Also, 5 years ago every maternity portrait I saw the woman was half nekkid LOL. It definitely turned me off to them b/c that style wasn't me. Now that my kids are 3 and 4 and I'm done having children its probably one of my biggest regrets. I wish I had taken the time to find a photographer who's style I liked b/c now I have nothing. I have maybe 5 pics of me pregnant and I hate that I have nothing.
I'll be the first to admit, I looked awful and I am one giant stretchmark. *But* now that I do maternity portraits for clients there is always that side of me that comes out and wants to kick myself.
I never would have hung them up in the house or anything, that isn't me. But just for the memories and for my kids to see what I looked like while I was pregnant with them would have been really nice.

Re: maternity photos- are you doing them?
I couldn't have them done because of a really bad back injury. We took plenty of pics ourselves, but I'm really regretting not having them professionally done. They come out so great when they are done well.

I don't know. Considering I haven't take one belly shot of myself I am thinking no. I am so self conscious.

Re: maternity photos- are you doing them?
I might make DH take some, but would rather save the $$ for professional photos after the baby is born.

I wouldn't hang them up either & my sister said the same thing to me. She wishes she had done them for the memories......

Re: maternity photos- are you doing them?
I want to capture this period of my life BUT I am not into belly shots.
So I think I will have them done, but more like our engagement pictures - a casual stroll in the park rather than showing bare belly.

Re: maternity photos- are you doing them?
No, not here. We don't even have wedding pictures up around the house because DH thinks it's weird to have pictures of yourselves up. Not that I agree with him, but I've been so lazy about getting something made up (we've only been married for 5 years! )
I'd rather spend the money on some stunning pics of DS when he's here.

No, I'm not. We don't want to spend the money on it. Trying to save every penny so that I can stay out longer on leave with the little one.

If I was to have them taken Jackie would be the only one I would let do it lol!!!
She came to my house 2 years ago to take christmas pics of DD and she's so amazing!!
Ill probably save the money for newborn pics.. and have DH take some pics of my growing belly.
