math hw help
Ok i need some help with this math problem. anyone know how to do this?>
One side of a triangle is half the longest side. The third side is 10 meters less than the longest side. The perimeter is 45 meters. Find all three sides

if its a right triangle use pythagorean theory. a2+b2+c2. c2 is the longest side.
but if its elem math, the student would have to use the "guess and check" strategy. i would use a table to organize the guesses.

I think it is 22 , 11, and 12 triangle.
Half of 22 is 11 and 10 less than 22 is 12
I did guess and check but I am sure there is some algebraic way to solve it too.
maybe n + n/2 + n-10 = 45
