Max is peeing in the house all of sudden! help!
Maximus is starting to pee in different areas of the house! He has never done this before. He is 9 months old but once he learned to pee outside ( many many months ago!) he has always let us know to let him out. Any suggestions? I am due to give birth any second now! Could he be marking his territory b/c he senses it? I don't know what to do! I feel like I can't take my eyes off of him.

Is he neutered? Rocco started doing that around that age and once I got him neutered, he never did it again.

He isn't nuetered! The vet did say he would pee a lot b/c of this but I didn't think that would mean he would start peeing in the house.

I would say he's marking because he isn't neutered or has some type of urinary infection. Either way I'd take him to the vet & get it taken care of.

Re: Max is peeing in the house all of sudden! help!
Do you have a pee schedule for him? Is he drinking more water than normal? I would get the vet to check him out first and make sure he doesn't have a UTI.
Neutering shouldn't take the place of a good schedule and training though. Sure, he should be neutered regardless, you choose what age is appropriate with your vet, but the problems may continue.
I'd start with the vet for the UTI and then go from there. We had this problem at 9 months with ours (that's when we got him) but we taught/trained it out of him. He didn't get neutered for another 6 months after so that wasn't the fix for us.
If it's marking because he's exhibiting dominance, you will need help to ensure you can turn that around. I hope this helps and that he's healthy.

Re: Max is peeing in the house all of sudden! help!
He was just at the vet last week and they did a urine analysis and everything came back normal. She actually said that b/c he isn't fixed he is going to pee a lot. When we go for walks he marks every tree along the way. I sometimes think he is a camel b/c I can't imagine where he is holding all of this! We don't have a schedule. He has always just gone to the back door to let me know he has to go pee or something. I am home all day with him and he really doesn't leave my side. I take him out for walks 1-2 times a day depending on the weather. If I am not home he is crated and he has never had an accident in his crate. Yesterday he was crated for 6 hours and he was fine. I really hope this is just a temporary thing!

Re: Max is peeing in the house all of sudden! help!
I'm glad he's healthy!
I'd up the outside visits to three times a day to see if that helps, even if it's just your yard, at specific times. We make sure we get the "doing business" out of the way first, and only then do we throw the ball for him or whatnot. I think he sees it as a reward for doing what we want. Works great for us.
Good luck with it!
