Maybe a stupid question on testing for food allergies..

If lets say I am testing to see if DS has a reaction to pineapple and I give him baby food that is a custard and it contains: banannas, apples, pears, juices etc and also includes pineapple would there be enough pineapple in this mix for me to consider him fine after the 4 days rule?

I personally would say yes. Both of my kids would react from just the tiniest amounts of an allergen. I would make sure to test the foods twice though, because your body doesn't really react to an allergen until the second exposure.

I don't think you can know for sure. If it is severe probably but most people don't have severe reactions the 1st time you eat something except maybe for nuts. My concern would be that there was so little if it in there that it wouldn't be a sufficient test. Some people with allergies can tolerate small amounts of the offending food. I would try pineapple juice or a slice of pineapple and not rely on a mix.

Before I try a combination, I would give the pineapple on its own
