My stupid food question of the day
Apples v applesauce - are they the same? Do they need to be introduced separately?
Ryan has already had apples but now he has poop issues due to antibiotics (for a nail infection). This just started this a.m. so I sent him to daycare with rice cereal instead of oatmeal and want DH to give him apples tonight (I think this is the BRAT diet?) but we only have applesauce (Gerber). Ok to give this or is this considered a whole new food to be introduced over 3 days?
If not OK to give him, will pears help?

Re: My stupid food question of the day
Just watch that the applesauce isn't laden with added sugar. If I want to give DD applesauce, I buy 100% natural (and usually organic).

Re: My stupid food question of the day
Sorry, it's Gerber Applesauce - not regular applesauce.

Gerber Applesauce is (I believe) JUST apples, so you should be fine....pears will do the same thing if you are uncertain though.

Thanks! The other apples we introduced were Earth's Best which is a PITA to find, so we've been using both Gerber & Earth's Best lately.
