yes I love them both too - drove past them both, great neighborhood - for only $10k price difference between the two though....the second one needs a lot of work.

Re: Meaghan - $350 Holbrook
those prices are lowest for Setuaket that I have ever seen
2 summers ago those houses were going for closer to $425- $485- and people were buying them
you might be able to get them for close to that price- my Dad's agent at coach in Setuaket said nothing in the town is moving right now- it's the biggest slow down she has seen since the crash back in the late 80's ( when my Dad sold the company to her now Boss)

Re: Meaghan - $350 Holbrook
Personally we are waiting- we almost bought last year at the peak of the market and I am glad we didn't
this is what my DH does for a living- he has turned his freinds away for loans b/c he does not think this is the right time to buy a house and can't with a clear conscience do a loan for them
we are going to start looking in the spring of 2007-

we are going to seriously start to look in the winter - we are getting married next july and both live at home (rent free, so we can save $$) - so we have to move either way, and we'd rather move into a house then into an apartment to just want to move out in a year or two.

we are starting to look in spring only because our lease is up in November- so that gives us 6 to 7 months to do everything

Is it on Lincoln Avenue? I have to tell you that I have lived in the area for 34 years and a plane has never crashed (yes a very small one but in a yard, not near the house a few years ago-sorry!) in this area. It WOULD be noisy though with the planes and the train down the street.

You really don't hear them after awhile. People come to the house and ask what that noise is and we usually say "What noise?". We don't hear it anymore after 34 yrs (me) and 10 yrs (dh).

I agree. My parents still live in Holbrook (I grew up there) and I don't even hear the airport anymore...even after living away for 10 years, you just get used to it and don't hear it at all.

Re: Meaghan - $350 Holbrook
I used to hav an apartment right off of Lincoln in that area. In a month you won't even hear the planes anymore. The train noise I would be more concerned with.
