Yes, you can put it in the dishwasher, but we found out the hard way that it's a risk. We found one of the breast shields in the bottom of the dishwasher a few days ago...apparently it had been shot off the top rack by one of the jets and it landed in the bottom, where one of the heating elements melted it 
We've dishwashed them before successfully, but I guess there's a risk that the parts will "travel".

You can buy one of those bottle baskets so the parts don't fly all over the place.

Yes. I also bought those microwave sterilizer bags.. this way if i didnt have a full dishwasher I still got my pumped stuff cleaned right away for next use.
