Medical insurance for a widow
HI NYS has great health insurance, especially for children. That would be your best bet. They do have brokers and a phone number to call. People are generally helpful. The website is not the easiest to navigate, but if you have some time, play around with it . I think insurance agents generally will be brokers for health insurance.. and I do think they will help with NYS marketplace. Perhaps your own insurance agent may be able to do this. Also NYS also has navigators at various agencies to help. Good Luck https://nystateofhealth.ny.gov/ https://info.nystateofhealth.ny.gov/sites/default/files/September%202019%20IPA-Navigator%20Site%20Directory.pdf

Re: Medical insurance for a widow
The website is confusing but I recommend taking the time to figure it out. Once you do it's super easy to use. The application for eligibility has to be updated every year. Having someone do it for you every year is a pain. Better off just learning and doing it yourself because it's much quicker.
The navigators don't do anything other then input your answers. You answer them verbally and they just click the buttons for you. There is no elaborating, everything is straight forward and for each question you click the option that applies to her. Income information has to be entered and once the application is submitted, it immediately tells you what she is eligible for and lets you pick the plan.
The first step is to create an account. Once that is done, you just go through the application. Calling the number is probably easier than going to one of the navigation sites, but I've spent forever on hold and then the people that help you talk soooo slow when asking the application questions. I finally decided to figure it out for myself and it's so much easier.
