Medical School Grad Gift
Ok girls...since we are posting about communion and wedding gifts, I need help with this one! My cousin is graduating from medical school in 2 weeks and my entire family is going to DC for a long Fri-Mon weekend! Question, what is an appropriate gift, money wise? Keep in mind, we are paying for a hotel room $160 per night for 3 nights, plus food & travel. I don't want to be cheap, but seriously, I can't afford to give a HUGE sum of $$$. This weekend is already costing us close to $800 probably, between room and food, nevermind that they only have valet and it's $28 per day to park! Thanks for reading this if you got this far, because I'm totally stuck. I also thought about getting her a nice frame personalized with her name and then M.D. on it and something else. Is this cheesy??? LOL

Money-wise, I'm not sure. But I think maybe a business card holder with her name, M.D. would be more useful. DH got that when he got his Ph.D. and it was really nice.

I think that is a lovely idea. You don't always have to give a check for a graduation -- especially not when it is costing you so much money to be there to celebrate!

I think the frame is a really nice idea- I think she's probably just going to be happy that you will be tehre... another idea is a personalized cross pen or other engraved nice pen with her name and MD on it.

When I graduated from law school, someone gave me a desk/name plaque with my name and the Esq. on the end of it and I was thrilled!! I love the personalized idea of the frame with the MD on the end or something along those lines!

That is what we gave my brother for his graduation from Medical school. He loved it.
Another idea is a stethescope.

A really nice plaque for her desk saying Dr. Jane Smith is a great gift.
