Melania stole parts of Michelle Obama's speech
Not one person can deny this wasn't plagiarism. No one in their right mind can. It was more than a sentence. If this was done in college, she would be gone.
And his campaign is denying it. Denying plagiarism. How stupid. They should just admit someone ****** up and is now fired. And then move on. And move on to allow more room for discussion about the other speeches. Like the mother of the fallen soldier.
But to keep denying is insane. It will do them no good.

I agree. I highly doubt she sat and drafted this on her own. I am sure she is being told what to say at all times.

Did you see Chris Christie on the Today Show this morning - basically said it was no big deal since "93 percent of the speech" differed from Michelle Obama's speech. Oh well then, I guess it's ok to only plagiarize a little bit.  .
Also heard on the radio this morning that Michelle Obama's head speech writer used to be Hillary's speech writer, so if you want to really get into it, you could say Melania used Hillary's speech writer

I love how everyone is blaming this on a speech writer. If people could just pass the buck to speechwriters, no-one would be responsible for a single word they uttered in a speech because everyone uses speechwriters!

And apparently Melania was really nervous beforehand. She also reportedly didn't agree with Pence either and felt Ivanka and the rest pressured him into the pick. They speculate that's why she was absent from the VP announcement.

Exactly.
But you'd think (hope?) that with their power and money and all the assholery, they'd have a few others review the speech and make sure it's on the up & up. I mean, we aren't talking taking pieces from a speech by a wife given 20 years ago. This is literally only a few years ago. That's like yesterday. It's baffling. Trump even said once how he's never been accused of plagerism (which was a dig at Biden) so I just would assume he would be so thorough, you know?

The campaign would be much better off if they just admitted that parts of her speech were lifted from Michelle's. Melania is probably the most sympathetic of the bunch, given that she has had a pretty low profile and is not a native English speaker. There are multiple ways they could have spun this where it would not be a big deal. Their denials, when it's so obvious there was plagiarism (intentional or not) are making it worse.

You know what I saw?? A woman, who is obviously still sick with grief, being exploited by Trump and the RNC. It was disgusting.
Hey, did you see when the GOP cut security funding for overseas embassies, which directly led to those deaths? Or when Bush sent countless men and woman to the wrong country to die? Or when the GOP spent BILLIONS in taxpayer money to investigate Clinton over Benghazi and found nothing? Or how many Americans died at foreign embassies during the Bush administration? Did you see all of those things? Give me a break.

I kinda feel sorry for her. From what I keep hearing she didn't want to do the speech in the first place. She was clearly nervous when delivering it but she did a good job. I can't stand Trump but I watched because my curiosity got the best of me. I honestly thought she did a decent job. Not great but not terrible.
Once the plagiarism claims came out I really felt like someone either sabotaged her or they really have a bunch of amateurs working for the campaign. You know she didn't write the speech. No one writes their own speeches. She may have participated in the writing process when it came time to give info about her parents and sister but that's it. Honestly, for someone to lift sections of Michelle Obama's speech just tells me that they have their heads up their asses.
To make matters worse they keep denying it. Just fire the speech writer and move on. It's not that difficult.

I noticed that there was nothing about Hillary not being indicted, but people ran to breathlessly post this nonsense. It's fascinating and really gives your an idea about how people think.
