Memory stick and computer problem..going insane! Need help.

I dont know proper terms for anything but I will try to explain.

My old camera had a card. Worked fine, put it in, uploaded, no prob. I just bought a new camera a couple of weeks ago. First 3 times I uploaded, it worked fine. This is a memory stick though. NOW..when I put the stick in, my whole computer shuts down and restarts. It keeps restarting until I take the stick out. I have no idea why!!! Now I have all these pictures that I cant upload into the computer. I hope its nothing big but I have no idea where to even start to fix this?

This ever happen to anyone else? What could be the problem??? Please!!

try hitting F8 when you computer boots up, it may be set to reboot from the drive.

when F8 opens up the set up menu make sure it is set to boot from c drive, not disk drive

If that doesn't work, try restarting in safe mode and see what happens then.

Do you have a USB cable for the camera? So you don't have to take the card out of the camera and plug it into the computer? That might get you past this issue, at least for now.
