Men at showers?
My mother is planning a sprinkle for me and wants to have my father, my dh, my ds' godfather, the new baby's godfather and a few other guys (7 total) to come to the party an hour and a half into it. She just wants them to eat and enjoy themselves (it's a restaurant/pub type place). They wouldn't be watching the gift part of the party...they're just there for the food.
Is it strange to have men there?

Re: Men at showers?
I think if they want to be there - then it isn't strange at all
I think if they don't want to be there - they will act if they are out of place - KWIM?

Re: Men at showers?
Guys were invited to my BF's baby shower after all the presents were opened. I thought it was great and we all ended up having a really fun time.

Not at all - the way you described it sounds pretty cool actually. I am not one for the men & women showers, but this sounds different.

I think its a great idea!!!
My Dh, the best man, my dad, his dad and my brother and BIL all had a table in the back of the room at my bridal shower....they ate, drank and were there to pack all the gifts in the cars when it was time to leave.

Re: Men at showers?
I had men at my shower. They are all my friends/co-workers that I have known and have been a part of my life for 8 years now. And they are just as excited about this baby as the females are, so I couldn't imagine not including them!!! I think it's a great idea!

Re: Men at showers?
as long as they don't get overwhelmed with the girly stuff, go for it! It's good that they're coming after the gift opening.... that's a bit too much for many Y chromosomes to endure
DH came to my bridal shower about 2 hours into it.... they do get bored if it's very showery, though... but in your case, they can sit together and amuse each other!

Re: Men at showers?
I'll share a different opinion. I believe it's completely up to the bride, but I personally do not think men should be there. It's really for the ladies to laugh, tell dirty jokes and talk about the men. I think when men are present it offsets the flow of the party. JMO.

bride? this isn't a bridal shower, this is for a SECOND baby shower. a sprinkle... so it would be more casual, laidback.

Re: Men at showers?
mmmm definitely- especially if they have that v cut muscle at the bottom of their stomach. Something about how the soapy water washes over it...

Re: Men at showers?
Def not...especially these days!! And as long as it isn't just one of them...they should feel uncomfortable!! Plus...you need someone to carry all of the gifts to the car!

Ooopsies, wrong board. Well, I've never been to a baby shower, so I guess I don't have an answer.
