Metallic Taste: *Update*
I have a strange metallic taste in my mouth and have had it - on and off - all day. I've never had this before - I don't know how else to describe it other than "metallic" - it's just weird.
Does anyone have any idea what this is? Or what it is from?
...or what I can do to get it to go away lol it's a little annoying! 
*UPDATE: NOT PREGNANT*
I am happily eating my Junior Mints - DH thinks this was all a ploy to get him to buy me Junior Mints - not true!
phew! i still don't know what it is but i'm glad it is not that - i guess i will have to see if it goes away - my teeth are in excellent health so it is not that - who knows? strange - if it doesn't go away soon i'll def go to the doc!

Well, I know its definitely one of the signs of pregnancy. But that doesn't mean you're definitely preggers. It could be for some other reason. I've had that taste in my mouth before too and I've never been pregnant, as far as I know.

I wonder what else could cause that??
It says on WEBMD that it could be a reaction to meds or antibiotics but I'm not on any antibiotics and the only thing i take everyday is vitamins and my BC and i've been on my BC for over a year and never had this prob before.

Have you eaten take out recently or anything wrapped in tin foil? I brought home dinner one night. It came in one of those aluminum to go containers with the paper on top. After I ate that I could taste something metallic, I could have conducted electricity.
ETA: I was not with child.

Have you eatten any fish lately? Old fish can give you a metalic taste... but your stomach would be upset as well.

no braces - not since i was 14
i don't know what it is...
yesterday i ate:
two bowls of rice krispies with skim milk
wheat toast
nutrigrain bar
mac and cheese with chicken noodle soup
today:
two bowls of rice krispies w/ skim milk
vanilla yogurt
nutrigrain bar
pudgies chicken
also - i had like 5 bottles of water between yesterday and today
it is so strong

I am experiencing the SAME THING right now - but I'm on heavy duty antibiotics.
Is there a possibility you could be pregnant? The food you mentioned doesn't sound like it would leave a metallic taste in your mouth......

I had that a couple of weeks ago--I never found out why--but it did go away--I read that it could be from an infection in your gums or something to do with your teeth--I went to the doctor for something else and I mentioned it,he didnt see alarmed :)

i was just to the dentist last month- he said my teeth and gums look excellent. i am fanatical about my teeth - floss 2 or 3 times a day and brush with an electric toothbrush - i've also never had a cavity. this is SO weird

I have only had that when I was pregnant, but I know other people who have gotten that after taking something like Mylanta or what not because there's too much aluminum in their system. Also, it could be a reaction to the iron in your vitamins.
