Re: Middle Island
I used to rent in Artist Lake, but we were in the 'back section' which is not the condos (the back was gated with a gate guard guy, although I have no idea why cause the front was SO Much nicer). THe condos seem really nice from what I could tell.
The only negative about Artist Lake is that it is right next door (practically) to Longwood HS and MS so if you are commuting around those times it adds a little to the commute.
PS - you should totally move to MI cause I am about 5 minutes from there and I would force you to come to my house and help me with my window treatments. haha jk.

Re: Middle Island
I rented a luxury townhouse in Birchwood at spring lake in Middle Island a long time ago. It was BEAUTIFUL & I loved it. The thing that a little weird over there is most of those communities are really pretty & well kept INSIDE the community(I'm not familiar w/all the ones you named) but some of Middle country road is "rough" over there. Like where I lived, the community was SOOO beautiful, but there were at times hookers walking down Middle Country road at night. I live a little east of there now & I go to the library in MI every week & it does seem better than it was back then in that area. I think Tudor oaks is rentals, I could be wrong but my son's friends' Grandma lives there.
ETS-I was young & single then & out at 2-3 AM....so maybe that's why I saw what I saw I'm never out past 10pm now

Re: Middle Island
I just want to say also, so nobody gets pi$$ed, that was my experience a LONG time ago on the stretch of Middle country Road right by Birchwood. I can't speak for the other developments. And I live in the next town & I LOVE it, I think you should move to this area too!

Re: Middle Island
My in-laws used to own in Artists Lake. It was nice, but like someone else had mentioned, it's right next to a school, so there was a lot of traffic at times....
Their condo was beautiful, though....

Re: Middle Island
My cousin lives in Covernty Manor near the clubhouse. She owns her townhouse and loves it because as a single mom she doesn't have as much to maintenance as a house. It's two bedrooms, full bath, kitchen, and dining area downstairs ( small deck off one of the bedrooms) and very large bedroom with bath and lots of closets upstairs.
If you have any questions you can FM me and I can ask her.

Re: Middle Island
My Grandparents live in Birchwood. It is a beautiful community - I use the pool every summer
My parents friend lives in the community next door - I think it is Spring Lake. It also looks nice.
There is a great burger place out there called Mike's - YUM!!

Re: Middle Island
DH's cousin has a condo in the back at Artist Lake. While the front appears to be newer and nicer, they do share the same community center and pool area. The back area does have some people renting out their units so it's not all home-owners but to the best of my knowledge he's never had any issues with anyone. We go over to use the pool in the summers and the people have always been nice and it's well run. They seem to treat the owners/tenants well with social events at the pool and little stuff like handing out Ice Pops on holiday weekends. It's not a bad option if you're looking for a one or two bedroom that's not as high as the going rate for many of the newer places. His one bedroom well under $100,000 when he bought it 4 years ago - not sure what they go for now.
