Milk Protein allergy moms... how did you start introducing milk?

DS is 12 months..I plan on discussing this with ped..when he was initially diagnosed (blood in stool etc.), they said to introduce milk at 12 months..

Did you try yogurts/cheeses first?

I tried DD on yogurt at 8 months and she was totally fine with it. Then started giving her cheese also - still fine. At 11.5 months we started switching her over to cows milk. All went well!

I would start with yogurt first and see how your DC tolerataes it. May take a few days to build up on their system before a reaction may occur.

I started her on yogurt at a year. saw she tolerated that then after a week or two, started giving her one ounce of milk to 7 oz of formula and kept weaning her off the formula gradually

As per our ped, we waited until 12 months, then gave whole milk. He was fine!

We started with the Gerber yogurt sold in babyfood section. Once we were ok with that & cheese...started on milk an ounce at time mixed with formula.

Along these lines did anyone try adding dairy back into their diet first (ie if you were breastfeeding?) prior to 12 months. If so how did you go about that? We are @ 10 months and I would loooove to try doing some dairy again.
