miracle blanket - no miracles happening here! Need help getting newborn to sleep in crib!
DS will not sleep in the crib. He will fall asleep after nursing or being rocked, and then the second you put him down in the crib he wakes up. He has been sleeping in either the swing or the bouncer and I really don't like it, I want to get him sleeping in the crib.
After reading all the rave reviews about the miracle blanket, we traveled to BBB and had high hopes - but no miracles happening here. We got no sleep for three days and DS went back into the swing at night.
Does anyone have any advice? DD sleeps just fine in the crib, she is fine swaddled in the swaddle me or miracle blanket or a sleep sack, she doesn't care. Its gotten to the point though where now DS will wake her up when he starts screaming and then I have two crying babies in the middle of the night.
Should I keep DS in the swing/bouncer? I don't know what to do!!

Yes... if he falls asleep with it in his mouth, he starts to cry when it falls out.

are they in the same crib? have you tried a sleep positioner? my dd HATED the crib, would sleep ANYWEHERE but, for the first 4 nites, until we got the inclined sleep positioner..we swaddle her first, then put her between the foam pads..she LOVED it..i think she felt lost in that big crib...and then at about 5 weeks, she got alil too squirmy for it, so we took it out, kept her swaddled, and she doesnt even know the difference..she loves the crib at nite now..

Yep, we have the momma bear... no luck.. then we tried a radio on static since the bear turned off after 45 minutes.. I thought about a sleep positioner - they will be 7 weeks tomorrow, is that too old? They do sleep in the same crib right now, we have to finish the real nursery - there is not enough room in the room they are in now for 2 cribs.

Re: miracle blanket - no miracles happening here! Need help getting newborn to sleep in crib!
how about on his side or with the incline sleep positioner? this is what helped us
DS will NOT sleep flat on his back and swaddling never worked since 2 weeks old he would wiggle his way out of it

Is it being "flat" that bothers him ??? Definately not an ear thing or reflux right ??

I would say if he is sleeping in the swing or the bouncer...just let him sleep there so you both get some shut eye.

I have the same issue with one of my sons. Ronan sleeps great. Bottle bath, in the crib at 7:30-no problems. Declan does not like the crib-he sleeps in his bouncy seat every night. I feel safer with him in there anyway because I am scared he will choke

I agree. We were having a really hard time with DS, he hated sleeping in his crib but would sleep great in the swing. We asked the ped about it and he said let him sleeps where he wants to. He had some reflux so he didn't like being flat. At 11 weeks we had changed things up a bit, started giving him a little rice cereal for the reflux and tried letting him sleep on his belly. He has slept through the night in his crib since then! But I spent so much time worrying about where he was sleeping and him getting bad habits, but it was what he needed at the time and he had no problem transitioning once he was ready.

I don't think so.. he will fall asleep laying flat sometimes on the play mat or on our bed. I do wonder about the reflux thing though because he spits up a lot, but the dr. didn't seem to be concerned because he has no other symptoms of reflux.

Thanks for posting this - that is what I am worried about - developing bad habits. Its good to hear that others have had the same issue and it worked out well in the end!
ETA: also we are going through batteries like crazy with the swing on through the night, I can't imagine doing it for an extended period of time.
