WWYD sleep related question... miracle blanket users

DS is 11 weeks old and for the last 5 weeks has very consistently been sleeping from 8 - 5. We swaddle with the miracle blanket.

However over the last week he keeps breaking out of it early (2am.) I'm SHOCKED. My DD who is not petite, a wild sleeper and strong as an ox lasted in the miracle blanket until she was 6 months old. OK back to the issue at hand - I tried the binky but he wasn't having it (he doesn't really use one) and had to feed him. I fed him, swaddled and he slept another 4 hours.

My question is should I continue to use the miracle blanket and take whatever good nights I can get or stop using it and "re"train him to sleep without it. I was hoping to use it until he was older with more arm/hand control and through the night more. I'm so dreading this. I know he can make it until 5am, but it seems his hands wake him early without the blanket.

Any thoughts/suggestions welcomeChat Icon

I didnt use the MB but I will say around 12 weeks DS started waking up again for a feeding , it lasted about 7-10 days and then he went back to sleeping through.

Think it might be a growht spurt?

When DD started breaking out more frequently and before I was ready Chat Icon, I just made sure I wrapped her really tight. I also found that what she was wearing made a difference as to when she broke free. If she was in just a onesie, she always got out. Now i put her in a sleeper and she rarely breaks out. If she does it is not until the morning.

I was using the MB until about a month ago (so about 4 months old). Finally she was breaking out in the middle of the night/early morning. So finally 1 night I tried her without swaddling and she has not gone back to the MB since. It was a godsent and she sleeps well without it.
If your DC is breaking out, then try it without the MB, see what happends. Otherwise if they like to fall asleep with it, let them.

Ugh - I remember those days! I was trying to stretch out the Miracle Blanket for as long as possible.

Once he was REALLY breaking out of it consistently I took him out. First I put him in regular pjs only (that was a nightmare) but then I put him into the sleepsack. That worked great. Maybe go right to a sleepsack?

I think Jack was about 3 months or so when he started getting out.
