I'm sorry you have to go through this, I went through the same thing last week, I ended up having a D&C.
I hope it happens for you soon, so you can move on and heal.

To answer your question-for me, it started happening- we went to the ER , followed up with my ob/gyn and was determined that I didn't need a d&c as everything happened naturally.

AF came about 32 days later and we are going to try again soon. We are doing much better

Please feel free to fm me if you want to talk

Re: miscarriage

I've had 3 M/C's. The first two were early on 51/2 weeks and 6 weeks. I m/c'd naturally. They call what I had chemical pregnancies. The third one I was 10 weeks and I was all scheduled for the D&C but I started bleeding very badly and my doctor told me to go to the ER. When I was there they did the sono and said I had passed most of it already on my own ( not getting to graphic--I knew I passed it) so I didn't need the D&C.

Re: miscarriage

I did-it is called Methotrexate and it is a chemotherapy drug. You get one dose and it destroys an lingering abnormal cells in your body, They will usually do this if your HcG levels do not drop

Re: miscarriage

I had a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks and did not bleed or anything. I didn't want to get a d&c so I waited to miscarry naturally and waited TWO weeks. The absolute worst two weeks of my life. Nothing happened, nothing at all, and I opted for the d&c. It was a hard decision, but I did it and my doctor was fantastic and we waited 3 cycles and tried and got pregnant quickly. Any questions, feel free to FM me. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

A big benefit for me with the d&c is that they were able to test the tissue and I learned something happened, a fluke in the cell division process, but the baby would not have survived 4 days past birth, so it helped me get closure as well. Chat Icon

Re: miscarriage

I'm so sorry for your loss!!!

I miscarried at 10 weeks without any symptoms. My Dr suggested d&C instead of medicine. I think a lot of the time it depends on how far along you are as to what your Dr. will suggest and if your body has already started the process.

Re: miscarriage

I found out I m/c at 14 weeks but the baby passed away a little before 9 weeks. My body did nothing in between that time to let me know some thing went wrong so I had to have a D&C.
Good luck!Chat Icon

I also had to have a D&C. My doc stated I could wait for nature to take it's course, but I just wanted to get it over with and move on. Sorry you had to go through this. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I quoted this because this is almost exactly what happened to me as well during my last pregnancy. I was 13 weeks preggo but it was determined that the baby had passed around 9 weeks. i still felt very pregnant, still had M/S and never bled.. so I had no idea I had a missed (silent) miscarriage..

I had a D&C 2 days later because I just wasn't sure emotionally I could handle 'waiting' to see if I miscarried on my own.. it was just too devastating to me..

Good luck to you Chat Icon

Thanks for all your replies, kindness and support !
Nature is cooperating.. I was 6w3d..I hope everything expels naturally so I do not have to have D&C.

I feel Ok.. crampy but OK. I find myself really weepy today. I was fine the other day.. I wonder if is the hormones. Of course, I am upset but I am rationalizing this loss; something was wrong with this pregnancy, and nature is taking care of it.

It took some time, but that was my thought process after a while as well. You will get your special child when the time is right and you won't ever forget this one. Chat Icon
