MMA/Boxing/related stuff?
Just searching the web tonight for some fun local classes near me.
Boxing looks kind of fun...never in a million years thought I'd contemplate boxing, but it looks like a great stress reliever!
Anyone take any of these kinds of classes? What can you tell me about them?
The only thing I think I'm NOT game for is wrestling people..so I assume jitsu is out.

Re: MMA/Boxing/related stuff?
The gym I used to take a class at closed. But I have to say...it is SO much fun. The first class I was paired up with a 6 foot man (only one left to be my partner lol). We took turns holding the punching bag thing. Ummm I thought I was going to die. I was about a quarter of his size and I had to hold the thing in place for him. But honestly, I got through it and ended up LOVING it. My new gym had punching bags so Id bring m gloves and practice my moves. It is such a great workout and stress reliever. But very intimidating at first.

I want to try kickboxing (a lot of ladies on here have peaked my curiousity) but I admit, I'm too chicken to go by myself.

I have done kickboxing and it kicks my butt every time lol, but I really enjoy the classes. I have also taken krav maga classes and I LOVED them! Great workout, high intensity, fun and you learn to defend your self. I hightly recommend trying a class. Def look it up and see if they offer classes near you.

I took kickboxing at LA Boxing in Commack for about a year before I ended up moving OOS. Loved the classes there & it's a great workout. Pricing was pretty good as well. They offer free trials.

Re: MMA/Boxing/related stuff?
I joined I love Kickboxing at Queens MMA when I saw a Groupon for it last year. They gave a pair of gloves for free. It is better than "cardio kickboxing" at a gym because you are learning correct form and actually sparring. I loved it, but stopped bec of my shoulder surgery. I don't know if I can ever go back
