this is jmo
rock n play...no not if u r putting them right in crib or bassinet
we got them bc that is what they r going to sleep in
swing/exersaucer/jumper
we got one of each..esp with twins..do u need them to survive,no but u will need something to entertain them and something to stick them both in when u r doing something or stick one in when u r say changing the other
if u do not want all 3 i would really suggest at least getting one but i say all 3 lol

Dumb question... So I can Use the rock and play in place of a bassinet? We live in an apartment so this would def help on space! Can they sleep in that until they're ready for their crib?

Re: do i seriously need all this stuff? registry related
My DD is only 3.5 months old...but I say YES YES YES to the Rock and Play! It is a total lifesaver. We live in a tiny condo and it really doesn't take up much space. Its the only thing DD will sleep through the night in!
We also got her a small swing which folds up...so it doesnt take up much room either. We put her in that a lot in the beginning. If we really couldn't waste any space on it and never got it..I doubt we would have missed it much.
We haven't gotten to the days of the exersaucer or jumper yet...so I dont know about those.
I can tell you that you will need the vibrating seats! They are another god send!!! You will also need the gym for tummy time, but you could always just fold that up and shove it in a closet when you're not using it.
HTH!
ETA: Here is a new model of the swing we have.

do i seriously need all this stuff? registry related
We live in a small house and don't have room for all that stuff either. We only registered for a play yard with a bassinet feature for the baby to sleep in in our bedroom at first and a small fold up swing. Most of the swings are so big and take up a lot of floor space, but we're hoping the small one we found will be good enough. We didn't register for an exersaucer or jumper because they aren't something we could use for a newborn and we figured we would just buy stuff like that when we feel a need for it.

yes! and I've talked to many new moms within the last year, and they all loved the rock and play, or wished they had put it on their registry.

Ours will sleep in the Rock and plays. They are portable so it's easy to move from room to room. We got 2, 2 swings, 2 bouncers but then one saucer and 1 junior so they can switch off. They don't use them til later. We didn't do the carseat swings. Just the bunny one. you could wait on the jumper and saucer or keep them at someone else house til they use them. I'm not sure but I think by the time they r in them they won't use the swings. We also did the high chairs that go on our kitchen chairs since our kic hen is tiny.

rock and play YES, we used it as a bassinet though so it served that purpose and it is AWESOME for travel. swing --I think if you have swing (preferably one that vibrates also) it eliminates the need for a bouncer exersaucer or jumper j

None of that stuff is needed... Will it make your life easier? Yes!!! My dd is 3 months old and still sleeps in the rnp next to my bed
Swing is a lifesaver for us. We even bought a travel one for vacays.
Bouncer dd doesn't care for. We didn't get an exersaucer and havent used the jumperoo yet so can't comment on those.

We live in an apt as well so we did not register for this stuff... We borrowed a swing and bouncer from friends since we don't know if DS will like them.
A friend got us an exersaucer we didn't register for but we will keep that at MIL's until we need it.

My babies didn't like the bouncers the swing are great at 6 mths they still go in them to nap :)
I have 1 exersaucer an 1 jumperoo I switch them off during the day and they love them
I didn't have the rock and play in the beginning they just slept in the pack n play the top part in my room
Now they sleep in their cribs
I also live in an apartment and found too much stuff is really not needed I don't like clutter so the less stuff the better and the babies are fine.
I'm very lucky I have 2 easy going good babies

We only had the rock n play (which she used for full-time sleep for 9 months) and a jumperoo someone gave us (which you can't really use until around 4 months at the very earliest). I went out around 6 w and got a bouncy seat (not the stationary bouncer -- it's a small seat with a vibration option that the baby can kick and make bounce up and down -- it was like $40) because I wanted somewhere that wasn't DD's bed to put her down when she wasn't sleeping and it was great because it had a toy bar above her to play with which was exactly the stimulation she needed from an early age.
We never had an exersaucer, but once she started to walk, we got the Bright Starts Around-We-Go, which is like a walker piece attached to a table (so she can only walk around it, not all over the house) as was recommended by our ped and we loved loved loved that!
We didn't get most of our stuff in advance. We kinda got it "as needed" but I also had a really small shower. But for us it was the rnp, bouncer, jumperoo, and around-we-go that we used. DD HATED HATED HATED the swing so I could never put her in it. We had a small portable one. Total waste on that.
Oh, another thing we got when she was a month old or so was an activity mat with the bars above -- that was great for tummy time and playing on her back!

I would register for some of it and you cAn always return. DS love his swing but only for 2 months. Never used a bouncer. Jumperoo he loved but he is 7.5 mons and an early walker so he wants nothing to do with it now. We used it for 2.5 mons.
Each baby is different and yours may now like some of the things. We registered for really nice things and only got like 2 months out of them. We may not have another so it won't even get used later on.
IMO don't spend tons of $$$$

RNPs are great for apartment dwellers, b/c they fold up when you're not using it. Some moms used them instead of a bassinet, while others liked it as a "parking space" during the day.
They make smaller swings. I had a Bright Starts swing and bouncer, and they didn't take up that much space. Skip the car seat swing.
We only had an exersaucer. They make doorway jumpers that are safe but won't take up the same amount of space as a regular floor one.

I registered and received the snug-a-bunny swing, snug-a-bunny bouncer and the Graco pack and play has a newborn sleeper for when he is really little that can be removed after he grows out of it. I dont think I am going to need the rock and play as I plan on putting him in his crib from day one but if he doesn't like the crib I will try all the other options before getting a rock and play. The swing obviously swings and the bouncer has the vibrator feature so I think with those 4 options he should like one of them.

Re: do i seriously need all this stuff? registry related
Here is what worked for us DD is a year and we lived in an apartment for her first year.
IMO everything on your list is good to have besides for the two different kind of swings. I had a regular one, not the car seat one and it was great. I know people rave about the rock and play, I never got one. DD was a pretty good sleeper so it never seemed necessary and she loved her bouncer during the day. If you are weren't having twins I'd say do the exersaucer over the jumper, which is what we did, but since you are having two I'd get both and give them some variety. I don't think You need two bouncers and swings though because you can use those interchangeably too.

we used all except bouncer. my son hated it. also, the exercauser was more important than jumperoo.
we never used the swing that the carseat goes into. we used a regular swing.

Re: do i seriously need all this stuff? registry related
All babies are different so what works well for one may not work well for others.
Rock and play: for us, this is a must have. DS2 has been sleeping in it since we came home from the hospital. I like that it's on an incline since he seems uncomfortable lying flat. I wish they had made this when DS1 was born.
Swing: also a must have for us. DS1 would take 1 long nap per day in it. It was the only break I got because he wanted to be held constantly. I've also been able to put DS2 in the swing when he was fussy or grunting a lot after a late night or early morning feeding. It has given me a break and allowed me to rest a little more.
Bouncer: I like that I can take it into the bathroom while I'm getting ready, especially if no one else is home. DS2 likes it better than DS1 did, but it was useful for both boys.
Exersaucer: we got more use out of this than the jumperoo, but DS1 liked both. With twins, it would probably be good to have at least an exersaucer or a jumperoo.
Jumper: DS1 was entertained by this. We ended up buying it after seeing how much he loved playing in it at daycare. It's not necessary, but nice to have when you have a slightly older infant.

My sister has twins and says the 2 RNP are a must!! She has them sleep in the bassinet part of the pack n play at night but puts them in their RNPs during the day. They are also so easy to fold up and take with you if you are going anywhere.
IMO I think you could get away with either an exersaucer or a jumparoo but you dot need both.
Some parents swear by the swing for their LO and some say their LO didn't like it. I would get one and see you can always return it. I don't think you would need 2 of them.

Re: do i seriously need all this stuff? registry related
Def 2 bouncy seats. I used them until my twins were about 10 months old to feed them/feed themselves their bottles.
one swing is fine
one exercauser is fine
A jumper is not a necessity. We wound up getting one used and had it downstairs but barely used it.
I can't speak for the RNP. I had my twins sleep in the top portion of the pnp next to my bed.
If you are going to travel I would suggest 2 pnps but if not one is fine.

i live in an apartment and had the same space issues. i def recommend the RnP. its not just for sleeping. i would take it with me every time i went to someones house. it was nice to have somewhere to put the baby down, especially if he wanted to nap. it folds up easily and is easy to transport. i used it til DS was about 10 months or so.
exersaucer was great. again, a nice place to contain the baby so you can get some stuff done. i didnt get a jumper, didnt see the need i had a swing but DS hated it, i'd probably be ok skipping the swing and jumper

Re: do i seriously need all this stuff? registry related
This is my opinion -
Put the baby in the crib from day one. You don't need a bassinet, you don't need a rock and play - You need one place for the baby to sleep - If for some reason, they won't sleep at all in the crib, you can always try the alternative ......but try the crib first.
I used the swing for my 1st until he was about 3 months and then sat up and leaned over the seat, my second hated the swing - and it takes up a lot of room. Ditch the swing.
I never used a jumper - but that may be a good idea for you b/c it doesn't take up a lot of space (isn't that the thing you set up in the doorway?)
The only thing I liked about the exersaucer was that it kept the baby confined if you needed to shower, pee etc once they become mobile - but again, it's big and clumsy and takes up an annoying amount of room.
I did love the bouncy seat (mine was only $25) b/c it was a huge help to feed them, let them drink their bottle in once they got a little bigger (4 - 5 months) Wasn't expensive and didn't take up a lot of room.

Re: do i seriously need all this stuff? registry related
I am a first time mom, and my daughter is only 4 days old, but I say no. It is not needed. We have a 1 bedroom apartment and no room for any of it. I think it is going to be fine. We got the pack and play with changing table and bassinet and a newborn rocker that also is good for a toddler seat. That is all. She sleeps in the bassinet/pack and play until she will transition to the crib and the newborn rocker she sleeps in for short naps in the living room or when she is awake and I can just rock her.

I never had a rock and play and I'm still not even sure what it is.. I had a swing, a bouncer and an exersaucer.
Bouncer was a definite, because that's where I put my kids when they were awake - it was their chair.
The exersaucer was nice to have. They both liked it more when they got older.
The swing was a life saver for my DD but I don't even remember my son using it that much. Some kids love it, some hate it so it's very hit or miss.

Get the Rock N Play or I bet you will buy it after they are born..fold up stuff is awesome and we just took DS out of his not too long ago.
If you have the swing that the car seats go in and live in an apartment, go with that bc his swing takes up a lot of room.
He is JUST now getting into his exersaucer at 5 months so that's not a a must must for the birth. The bouncer really depends on the baby I think, he hates it for the most part and not just bc he is getting big but he always did.
