Mommies of 17 months old
I think the terrible twos arrived very early in our household. My son thinks he is the boss! Everything is a battle, EVERYTHING, its either his way or the highway. He learned how to kick back and hold his arms up in the air so he slides out of my hands when I try to pick him up, and its so hard bc he is a big boy. What do I do? I try to ignore his behavior or distrct him with something else when he acts out, but sometime I just have had it. Apparently, he is very good (occassional tantrum) at my mom's and SIL's...please tell me this is a phase. He is such a sweet boy, he relaly is, but sometime when he wants something or wants to do something, its like the devil himself comes out!

Just wait. Its NOT the "terrible twos" that you have to worry about. 3 is SO much worse.
TRY to ignore it and/or distract him as best you can.

DD just started doing the same. Everyone is telling me to just ignore it. So I do and I hope She has become such a drama queen I really don't think there is much we can do. Just have to ignore it and/or give time outs(which DD doesn't seem to get just yet)

OMG same here......I swear Teddy is demonic. I have found when he throws himself on the floor best thing to do is walk away entirely. Because at this stage they want your attention. Usually after 5-10 minutes of crying he settles down and comes to get me. We usually sit together afterward and he'll relax a little. If it's bad behavior like hitting, biting, kicking we put him in time out. Which he really really hates. Good Luck...
