Mommies of 2 or more - Especially toddlers - Classes for siblings

DS will be 2 when baby #2 will come.

Did you or will you take classes for siblings especially if you have/had a toddler?

Are those classes really for toddlers or for older siblings?

Would you recommend them or find them useless?

TIA

Mercy has a class but the sibling has to be 3 and older. I think that is silly because a lot of people have another child when their first is under 3 but oh well.

I don't know how much it would help anyway.

When I was pg. with my DS, we took my then 7 year old step-daughter to the sibling class that St.Charles offered- It was basically, they make a picture for the baby, and the woman spoke about what would happen the day the baby was born etc...the big thrill was the kids got to see the nursery at the hospital....It was geared more for the older kids, but cute also, because they get a certificate etc,... at the end...My DS is now 3 and I meant to sign him up, just haven't yet- hopefully there will be an open class for him....2 might be a bit young, but only you know your DS Chat Icon

Let me know if you find anything - I asked my ped if there was one he recommended and his response was that she was too young and that he really didn't recommend them as he didn't think they help much. He suggested I get some baby dolls and have her interact with them as she would with the baby, and maybe get some books about siblings and new babies to read to her.

I know Good Sam has one, but I'm not sure how old the siblings have to be.
