Mommies with toddlers going to school in Sept
Have you gone school bag shopping yet? I'm not sure what type of school bag to get her. Hanna Anderson has some cute ones but I'm worried they will be too big.

As a former preschool teacher, I much prefer a regular-full sized backpack. You need it to send home projects and stuff that you don't want to bend up too much.
Emily has already requested a "Barbie" backpack. I'll get her one from Tina's Luggage in Hicksville most likely. They have a good selection of Character backpacks, and while I am sure the quality won't be the greatest, we'll probably get her a new one each year for now until she gets a bit older.

Our nursery school uses brown paper bags each week if you don't use a backpack. When Sarah was in the 2yo class none of the kids used backpacks. I know that a few of the 3yos have them, I haven't decided if we're getting them this year or next.

In my son's nursery/preschool, back packs are not required. Andrew has one from Lands End - its a junior size.

Pottery Barn has a preschool size one It's cute. I ordered it for my DD for when we go out to restuarants, she likes to carry all of her crayons and books herself.

No because DD's school doesn't allow backpacks. They get a cubby to keep certain things in.

Roman's had a backpack he's carried to daycare since about 2. I got it from lillyskids.com, great selection! I actually got Clover one too, they both have their names on them.

Talia's school gives every kid a canvas tote bag that they send home once a week for us to empty.

Re: Mommies with toddlers going to school in Sept
Our school gives a backpack to each child with their names on it so I don't have to buy one...

We got Cole the LL Bean junior backpack. I'm not into characters, and this one held up great. We'll use it again this year.

Re: Mommies with toddlers going to school in Sept
Last year (when she was 2) we used the small backpack. I only had to send her with a change of clothes and some diapers.
I am going to try a regular sized backpack on her to see how it fits her (because they have some really cute princess ones) It will probably be too big so I will just get her the small one.
