Mommies of Winter babies....
Did you use the Bundle Me thingy that goes on the car seat? Is it any better than just using a warm blanket? It looks like it would kind of bother the baby, but this will be my first baby born in cold weather so I am wondering if it is something I should buy.....

I loved the BUndle me thingy!!! I didn't think I was going to use it at first... but I totally put a blanky in it (like a thin fleece one, or a heavy one depending on the weather) and it was amazing... no coat needed! Its so much easier then putting a jacket on them, and then putting them in the car, and then taking the jacket off... b/c remember the car is still cold in the winter. So you would need to wait for the car to heat up before removing the jacket, but its unsafe to drive in the carseat with the jacket on... plus then you would have to re-adjust the straps...
I 100% think it is a life saver... But... I know that the JJ Cole one is not really "Safe" as per some car seat experts... b/c it goes through the car seat straps in the back...
go for the one that goes OVER the car seat... I think the one we had was Kidaapous or something... Good Luck!

MUCH better than just a blanket! It keeps them so warm and snuggly! And you can put way less clothing on them because it's so thick and warm! Definitely doesn't bother them- my son LOVED his!!

i haven't really thought all this through yet. i am due january 1st with my first, so i will have a winter baby... i really like the idea of the bundle-me's instead of the big jackets and stuff, but what do you do if you and baby have to go to the food store or other errands or something? do you leave them in the carseat and bundle me and just put the whole seat in a shopping cart? or what if you have to run into the post office or something and dont have a shopping cart available? thanks!

i used the bundle me and was very happy with it. DS was a kicker from the womb so blankets over him never stayed on and I didnt want him in a snowsuit in his car seat b/c of too much bulk under the straps.

Instead of the bundle me, I used the Posh Pouch by Kiddopotamus and was very happy with it.
DS liked to push down the bundle me and his hands would get cold.

mine was an early spring baby, but I had same concerns since weather was unpredictable.
I had concerns with Bundle Me, because it was not approved safe to use with carseat while car is moving.
I love the baby's cozy world, carseat cover, it goes OVER the car seat and easy to take off it gets too hot. Its like a blanket with elastic on edges. Very warm, but very breathable.

I tried it with my 1st son. I HATED it. It was way too hot for them. But, my kids always sweat when they sleep. I ended up selling it on craigslist. I preferred to use blankets instead. Maybe I also didn't like it because they were so big that they were just too long for it?

Get the Kiddopotamas Pouch. If you do a search on here you will see why it's safer than the Bundle Me (and it's the same exact concept)

Agreed! DS was so cozy in that thing!!!
Better than a blanket because there is NO need for a jacket at all with this as is goes blow and over the baby so they are wrapped in it! If anything my DS was sweating in that thing at times!
I loved it!

loved my bundle me for both my DCs (one born in Jan one born in Aug) for the winter months...it kept them nice and warm for car rides and cold stroller rides and I never needed a bunting and it didnt fall off like a blanket.... def recc it!

DS was born in February and even though it was cold, we went for walks every day. I used the BundleMe for walks but just used blankets when he was in the car.

We loved the Bundle Me!!! It was so convenient in the car, it wouldn't slip off like a blanket and no wind could blow in from the sides.
DS loved it also, in the beginning it was his lovey, he needed it to sleep at night. So every night we unzipped the top and placed it in is crib and he would lie on top of it

I loved the Bundle Me! DD was toasty warm all winter because of it. I used the toddler one in her stroller the following winter as well.
