Re: Mommies that own SUV's
Mommy to be here with a Nissan Murano and hubby has a Dodge Ram QuadCab-both should be fine with a carseat. I love my Murano with an 80lb bulldog!

When my son was born my DH bought me a 2005 Honda Pilot. Very spacious, 3rd row of seats when needed and a very smooth ride.

I have the Pilot as well and I love it. Very nice ride, great on gas for an SUV. ANd I love the optional 3rd row. It was the only SUV that we felt actually gave you leg room in the 3rd row.
I had the Pathfinder before and I always loved it. But I didn't like the new models-especially once I saw the gas mileage.

Re: Mommies that own SUV's
I have the Mazda Tribute (looks just like a Ford Escape). I like it but after I put her stroller in the back there is really no room for anything else (if I had to take her pack and play and her stroller somewhere I would have to put the pack n play in the back seat on the floor or standing up behind a seat).

I wish I would have bought the pilot....I did buy a Special Edition CR-V...the reason is because we could afford to get the CR-V fully loaded...but only a few options in the pilot. I love my CR-V...but I do still long for the pilot.

Re: Mommies that own SUV's
We also have a Pilot and love it. We never use the 3 row, but might change once baby #2 arrives. Our reasoning for buying the Pilot was the safety rating and gas mileage. Just this week DH commented on how the Pilot is the best car he/we have own as far as handling in bad weather and realiabilty. Our Pilot is 2003, we purchased it when they first came out and we have NEVER had an issue with it.

We have a 2004 Pilot, we were sold on the high ratings in Consumer Reports for crash tests, gas mileage and reliability. And Honda's good reputation.
We are actually considering the CR-V for DH as a second car.

Hey Marcie,
Just browsing the parenting board....we own a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and even when we put Casey's crate in the back it's tight on space. So I personally would look at other stuff!
I have one too - it can be tight at times.

The CR-V is a great car...rated very high for a small SUV...I just wanted something a little bigger if our family grows again...but I could always trade it in and upgrade if I need to.

Re: Mommies that own SUV's
another Mommy to be and we've got a Hyundai Sante Fe, plenty roomy without feeling or driving like some of the really big SUVs and such a great deal, only vehicle brand that had zero percent financing too!

We have the Equinox too. I do love it, but when we have another I think we'll need more room.

Re: Mommies that own SUV's
Do you all think that the SUV's that you drive have enough room for all the baby's things that you might need to bring with you places?
For instance, will the stroller, pack n play, diaper bag, etc - fit in the back of your truck with grocery bags? I am soooo worried about the back not having enough room.
I spoke to a woman the other day and she had a 2004 Jeep Cherokee. She said that with the stroller in the back, she really couldn't get too much in there.
Thanks Girls

For the last two months I have no idea why, but I have been keeping both my strollers in the back, my Peg and a Chicco Tuscany. And if you've ever seen me shop well.... I think Irishtracy can answer that question yes there is plenty of room.
We also went to Fire Island this summer with the third row up we fit 4 adults and 2 kids with stuff for a week including pack n plays, 2 strollers, and a granny cart. I think DH put 2 pack n plays on top but still...

Re: Mommies that own SUV's
I have no problems fitting everything in the Pilot. I get the stroller, pack and play, grocery bags, her travel hi-chair all in at the same time without problems. The Pilot has actually one of the biggest storage areas amongst SUV's. We just got ours in August and we looked into a lot of SUV's. We found it to be the best in space amongst this type of SUV. Plus with the better gas mileage and the higher safety ratings it just seemed to be an easy choice in the end for us.

Re: Mommies that own SUV's
I have a Lexus RX330 and could use a little more room I guess its just the class that the truck is in - it seemed big when we got it but now w/ the car seat in the middle of the back seat and all the baby stuff in the way back, I just feel like I never have any room.
