Moms - How many bottles and what size(s)?

Hope you don't mind me posting on here but I figure you are the experts! If you are bottle feeding only, how many bottles should you get and what sizes?
I really appreciate your help!

I had like 12 of each size (4 ounce and 8 ounce). In the beginning I prepared a days worth of bottles at a time, so it really helped to have so many. Plus I was so sleep deprived that standing at the sink to wash bottles was the last thing I wanted to be doing all the time.

How many ounces do newborns eat? When do they start taking more? I know these are stupid questions but I have no idea!

I used Dr borwns at first and had a trillion.

Then I switched to the Playtex drop ins b/c of the BPA..and I have 2 bottles.

All I have to do is clean the nipples and I do that before a new bottle or after a bottle.

I have 12 8 oz bottles and probably around 9 4 oz bottles.

I think the 4 oz bottles were a waste. They increase the amount they drink so fast, I feel like I really didnt need them after the fact.

I only had six 8oz bottles.

DS had 4/day. I didnt like them piling up so I would clean them as I went and make new every time so I never had a dirty bottle. Some days, but rarely, I did let the 4 pile up and clean and make bottles at the end of the day.

I also had a bottle for the car and then a spare bottle.

ETA I wouldnt get any 4oz...waste!

I would get 9-12 4oz & and 12 8oz. This way you always have some on hand that are clean in case you have not had a chance to get to them.

When we got home from the hospital DS was eating about an ounce every 3 hours. Doc told us once the time between meals starts to get shorter and a half oz until it is back to normal.

I had about 4 4 ounce bottles and 8-10 8 oz bottles.

I have 12 8 oz bottles and 3 4 oz bottles - the 4 oz bottles are really a waste a they drink more than that very quick IMO.

I would have about 6 of each to start....because each baby is different!
Lily was on 3-4 ounces for a while, so we used the 4 oz. bottles pretty frequently. And she had at least 6 bottles a day for most of her 1st year. Unfortunately, some babies only like certain bottles, and hate certain bottles, so don't stock up too much too soon!

And I only boiled the bottles once - when I took them out of the box. After that, it was soap and hot water.

I had 6 - 4 or 5oz bottles, and 6 - 8 or 9oz bottles depending on the brand.

Now I hardly ever use her shorter bottles unless I am giving her some chamomile tea in them.

Thank you so much! I was going to use Dr. Brown glass but they only come in 3.5 oz & 7oz. The plastic BPA free come in 8oz. Guess I'll skip the 3.5oz all together. Should I even bother with the 7oz glass?

I have 5 - 5 ounce bottles and 5 - 9 ounce bottles. I used the little ones alot when she was first born. Now she is one week shy of 7 months and I only use the small bottles for water/juice.

I love my Dr Browns! I hate myself for not using from the beginning. As far as I am concerned they are awesome and I will never use a different bottle.
