Mom's of 1+ y/o- how does your DC go to sleep?

I was just wondering how you put your DC to bed for naps & bedtime-- do you read to them, rock them, give them a bottle, put them in bed awake, etc.?

Nate will be 18 months next week and he still falls asleep on our chest. He has to be exhausted for him to fall asleep on his own.

we trained him to fall asleep on his own. So it's a few books, into the crib, a story or a song with the lights out. At first we had to do a lot of petting and shushing, but he learned quick. Now I can pretty much just put him in his crib and he flips over and passes out.

Naps during the day~I put him in his crib and he's out.

Sleep at night~He watches Curious George and off to bed at 8:30.

Thanks ladies! I guess I'm just looking to get into a routine b/c sometimes it's a struggle to get her to go to sleep (even when she's exhausted).

His bedtime routine is bath, dinner, bottle (I know, it'll be gone soon enough) while we read him a couple of books, one last diaper change, then into the crib by 7:30pm.

For naps I just put him down.

I still turn on his FP Aquarium for both naps and bedtime but it's not inside the crib anymore because he'll just play with it. He likes his lullabyes. Chat Icon

ALONE...don't ask how but he does!

He was the most difficult baby...rocking, shushing, swaddling, rocking, singing, co-sleeping....I was exhausted for 10 months.

Then one night as a was rocking him to sleep he reached for his crib I put him in and he fell asleep.

We did hit a rough patch when he learned to stand in his crib and could not get down.Chat Icon

I really believe it's in the baby...my friend's baby was a good sleeper as an infant but now he sleeps with them. They did a "switch" with my son.

Good luckChat Icon

I hope I don't jinx myself by posting this!

Thanks ladies...I've tried letting her CIO, but, she makes herself throw up when I leave the room! It's gotten really bad, actually. So, I'm trying to come up with different ways to soothe her to sleep. Chat Icon

Bryan used to be the worse sleeper until age one- now I just lay him down- somethimes if he wakes up I go back in and lay him down again and pat him and tell him its time to sleep- he usually goes down.

Jacob gets a bottle while rocking in the glider.. that goes for bedtime and naps. Its annoying, but trying to let him CIO he vomited also. He still wakes during the night. Sometimes up to 4 times. Chat Icon Chat Icon I know i need to change things, but honestly, i just dont have the energy..
