Mom's of 1 year old+ babies who were on Neocate(or Elecare)...
What are your kids drinking now? My ped. told me water was fine to give Ava because soy milk really has no fat or nutritional value, but I have been giving it to her and she LOVES it. Just wondering what everyone else is giving their former Neocate babies!

Do you give her soy cheese? What about a calcium supplement?
On a food allergy board I lurk on I see a lot of milk allergic kids are on soy. But a few kids are on rice milk since they eat soy cheese & yougurt and their moms were concerned with too much soy in their systems.
These are the sites I go to most often when I'm looking for help or support.

hannah right now is on soy formula. after being on it for a month the ped wants to try to transition to milk. she does eat cheese and yogurt without any issues so i am hoping she has grown out of the milk protein allergy.

I'm not sure why your ped would say that soymilk has no nutritional value. Soy protein is a complete protein, meaning that it contains all of the essential amino acids. We use Silk plus DHA Omega-3 (when its available):
Nutrition Facts Serving Size 1 cup (240 mL) Servings per container 8 Amount per Serving Calories 110 Calories from Fat 45 % Daily Value* Total Fat 5g 8% Saturated Fat 0.5g 3% Trans Fat 0g Polyunsaturated Fat 3g Monounsaturated Fat 1g Cholesterol 0mg 0% Sodium 120mg 5% Potassium 350mg 10% Total Carbohydrates 8g 3% Dietary Fiber 1g 4% Sugars 6g Protein 7g Vitamin A 20% Vitamin C 35% Calcium 35% Iron 6% Vitamin D 30% Vitamin E 20% Vitamin K 15% Riboflavin 30% Vitamin B6 30% Folate 20% Vitamin B12 50% Phosphorus 10% Magnesium 10% Zinc 10% Selenium 8%
So to answer your question, we use soymilk, also soy yogurt as per my peds recommendation

My ped. told me that she's not drinking it for its nutritional value anymore like formula, she eats and takes a vitamin for that. I should have explained that, sorry.

Oh that makes sense, no at this point they get most of their nutrition from food not the milk but IMO drinking the soymilk is still an added benefit
