Moms of 2 and Your Car
If you have 2 or more children can you give me your thoughts on the room/quality etc. of these cars please:
Nissan Altima Nissan Maxima Toyota Camry Toyota Highlander
Or any others I should consider that are roomy and have good gas mileage? Not interested in a hybrid or mini van right now.
ps I currently have a Chevy Equinox and I guess trying to see if I can do better.

Re: Moms of 2 and Your Car
I had a nissan Altima. Mine was a 2002 model, but I LOVED IT!! I cried when they took it away:( it's so roomy in the front seats and in the back, lots of trunk space and was great on gas.
My DH had a maxima, it's a bit more sporty and since it's a v6 it gets worse gas mileage than my altima that was a 4cylinder. His maxima got the same gas mileage as my Murano gets now.

Forgot to add the Murano to the list. So you love your Murano do you think its better size wise than the Altima or Maxima?

Re: Moms of 2 and Your Car
I have a Chevy Malibu, which is my work car that I use as my own car, and its about the same size as the camry or Altima (full size sedan). I can fit both kids no problem, and the stroller and stuff in the trunk.
It does great on gas and has about the same size as my old vehicle (Chevy Equinox). I would go with the car IMO, because the gas is lower.

I LOVE MY murano too. But i cant' compare my altima to the murano cause it's car vs crossover suv. I can say though, I like my 2002 altima MUCH MUCH better than the newer altimas. It seems like they made the newer altima's more sporty and on the same platform as the maxima when they 1st changed the body style.
I can fit alot in the trunk of my murano, i have 2 britax marathons in the back seat, one rear facing and 1 front and i still have plenty of room in the front seats and behind the seats. I can even fit in between the carseats in the middle, my MIL and sil can too, we are all on the shorter side and about 100-140lbs. My murano has awd, very important for me in New england winters, the altima was All over the road, one of the main reasons i got rid of it. My murano also handled/turning radius like dh's maxima-but obviously you can't take turns doing 50 like we used too.
I'd def go test drive all your choices and see which one you like best.
I'd hands down get another Murano right now, and we do plan on getting one when my lease is up next june.

Re: Moms of 2 and Your Car
I just got a 2009 Murano and love it! I only have one DC right now but I think it will be fine with two. I love it! I looked at the Highlander and didn't like it as much as the Murano

Re: Moms of 2 and Your Car
I will have 2 in a few months. We just traded in our Murano for a GMC Acadia because it has a full 3rd row seat. It has been giving me 16/24 which pretty decent gas mileage considering the size. The Murano was a great crossover but we needed more room...

Re: Moms of 2 and Your Car
we have a jeep cherokee and it's ehh OK. We rented a murano on vacation and it was much roomier than the jeep - too bad I didn't know before buying

Re: Moms of 2 and Your Car
I have a GMC Envoy and with 2 car seats in the back, there is no room for another person. So, when my lease is up, I am getting a car that has a 3rd row. Have no idea what yet. More than likely an Acadia or Enclave, beacause that is what DH deals.
