moms of 3yr old girls...or older
DD lately has been more defiant then ive ever seen...i know the holidays have a part in all the gifts, family over, junk everyone gives her to eat (ugh) but telling me "no" is getting to be out of hand. She tends to do it when other people are here, i guess she wants attention and people to give her whatever she wants? or to show off? I know this is a phase...just wondering if anyone else out there has experienced this and how long it lasts? i know each child is different i just wanted an idea of what im in for...i put DD in her room for 3 minutes (her age) and when she comes out of her room she is better for a while. I also take privilages away, such as today i wouldnt let her paint (she was devistated)i feel guilty, but i feel like i have to get through to her. ok...feedback please

It gets worse lol. No seriously. It's the age. I did stop punishing the bad and started more rewarding the good. If she is good let her paint and point that out. Of course when she is bad a time out is a great thing but let her know that her good will get more attention than the bad. That may help somewhat.

thanks..i do try to bring up that when we are doing special things, its because shes a good listener...but you are right, it makes a difference... i think i need to do that more because it does work. i guess girls are very high maintance and dramatic because DS can care less and is easy going lol. its funny...i had a classroom of 10 3 year olds no prob, but its sooo different having your OWN 3 year old!
